Guidance for Club Players & Officials

Local club fixtures can commence from 10th August with certain restrictions.

The following guidance is for club players and officials involved in local fixtures.

Key Requirements for Players & Officials

​

1. Off the Field

​

For all adult and 12-17 year olds, it is important to demonstrate social distancing and avoid any form of group activity.

​

This will require for example;

​

  • No shared travel unless members of the same household

  • No group team talks

  • Warm-up in small groups (maximum 5 players)

  • The batting side on the sideline must adhere to social distancing between players

  • At the end of the match maintain social distancing at all times, for example, avoid elbow taps or handshakes

​

2. On the Field

 

  • Pitch positions should maintain 2m physical distance where possible. 

  • Avoid any group activity; for example, discussions or celebrations.

  • For children and young people Scottish Government guidance states that social distancing is not needed during cricket activity, though 12-17 year olds must adhere to social distancing before and after activity.

 

 

General Guidance

 

      Prior to Playing Local Club Fixtures

 

  • All participants (players, coaches, officials and volunteers) should check for symptoms of COVID-19, in line with current Scottish Government guidelines

  • If you are symptomatic and/or living in a household with a possible COVID-19 infection you should remain at home and follow Scottish Government guidance. 

  • Personal hygiene measures should be carried out at home before and after cricket activity

  • Players and officials should bring their own drink in a labelled bottle and bring their own food if required

  • Players should use their own cricket equipment

  • Players and officials should bring their own hand sanitiser where possible and maintain strict and frequent hand hygiene measures at all times. 

  • Players and officials should follow Scottish Government guidance on best practice for travel, including minimising the use of public transport and avoiding car-sharing

       Arriving at the Ground

      â€‹

  • Players and officials must travel to the ground on their own or with a member of their own household

  • Players  should turn up at the venue with appropriate playing kit on

  • Players and officials should not arrive more than 15 minutes before the match start time

  • Players and officials should ensure they are aware of the home venue procedures on the use of the clubhouse and toilets 

  • Players should warm up in small groups appropriately distanced apart from each other

  • Warm-up practise balls should be disinfected before and after use

       During the Match

  • Players and officials should remain socially distanced throughout the match where possible

  • Players and officials should regularly break for hand and cricket ball sanitisation

  • Players must refrain from any group activity including celebrations, team talk or mixing with the opposition at the end of the innings

       After the Match

      â€‹

  • Players and officials must refrain from any group activity including celebrations, team talk or mixing with the opposition at the end of the match

  • Players and officials should leave the ground as soon as possible after the match

​
